The 20 Questions Book Tag

This is my first book tag (and another excuse to not write my Q1 reading wrap-up)! Thank you Sarah @girlonbooks for tagging me. Check out her tag here! Here are some of my favorite posts of hers:

1. How many books are too many books in a series?

Anything more than 9. The longest book series I’ve read is 8 books long, but I only read 7 out of the 8 books.

2. How do you feel about cliff-hangers?

Depends on the book. If I liked the book throughout and truly can’t wait for the sequel then I like cliffhangers. If the book was okay, I do not like cliffhangers because the cliffhanger just serves as a technique used to try to engage readers at the last moment and marketing.

3. Hardback or Paperback?

Hardback because it is much more durable than paperback. I only like paperback if it is floppy. And I hate mass market paperback.

4. Favorite book?

Sorry, I don’t have one; I have a lot. Ace of Shades, ACOTAR (although, after ACOSF this is very debatable), White Ivy, Six of Crows, And I Darken, These Violent Delights. Most of these listed are series.

5. Least favorite book?

I don’t really have one. If I don’t like a book, I do not constantly talk about how much I dislike it because I have a lot of books that I dislike. For dislike is a rating of 1 or 2 stars. Currently, 39% of the books that I read are rated 1 and 2 stars, collectively.

6. Love triangles, yes or no?

No. This is one of my least favorite romance tropes.

7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

The Damned by Renee Ahdieh. It dnf’ed it on 29 Sept 2020. So it’s been quite a while since I last dnf’ed a book.

8. A book you’re currently reading?

Luck of the Titanic by Stacey Lee

9. Last book you recommended to someone?

I think it might have been These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. It was one of my favorite reads of 2020.

10. Oldest book you’ve read by publication date?

Probably some book by Shakespeare.

11. Newest book you’ve read?

A Court of Silver Flames

12. Favorite author?

I don’t have one because I haven’t read enough of an author’s works to know if I enjoyed his or her works enough or I have read most of an author’s works and I do not like all of them. Anyway, I’m a very picky reader.

13. Buying books or borrowing books?

Borrowing books. I’m more of a book reader than a book collector.

14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

Just one? Umm…The Cruel Prince, A Curse So Dark and Lonely, The Daevabad Trilogy, American Royals….I think this list can go on for forever.

15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?

Bookmarks. I hate seeing dog-ears because it damages the book, but the funny thing is that I don’t mind annotating my books.

16. A book you can always reread?

If I was asked this last year, I would have said A Court of Mist and Fury, but right now, I don’t know because ACOSF was a giant mess. I’m hopefully going to be writing a post on this soon because if you read my ACOSF book review, you know that I mostly enjoyed it. As I kept thinking about ACOSF, I started to hate it even more.

17. Can you read while listening to music?

Yes, I can listen to both instrumental and lyrical music. I prefer not to those because I can read faster if I’m not.

18. One POV or multiple POVs?

One POV if it’s first-person POV and for multiple POVs if it’s third-person.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

I used to read a lot more books in one sitting, but now I don’t have as much time so…over multiple days!

20. Who do you tag?

J @The Midnight Book Blog

Abby @Beyond the Read

Angele @angele reads books

  1. I am glad to know you are also on the “why does everyone love the cruel prince” train! ahahaha. And let’s talk about ACOSF because… i agree. What a mess. Lol!! PS I didn’t know you were reading Luck of the Titanic! Do you like it so far? Good post!!!

    • Thank you! Yup, I honestly don’t know why people like The Cruel Prince so much 🙈. I read the entire trilogy too 😂. I thought ACOSF was pretty good once I finished reading it. Then, I kept thinking about it and hating it. I think I need to write an updated book review on it. I don’t know how I feel about Luck of the Titanic because I’ve only read two chapters 🙈.

  2. Thank you so much for tagging me Kimberly!! I’m afraid I’ve already done this tag — granted, it was way back when I first started my blog and I didn’t have a clue what I was doing 😂 — but I appreciate it nonetheless ❤️

I’ve been waffling as to whether or not I should read The Cruel Prince, sorry to hear it wasn’t for you! And ooh Luck of the Titanic!! I can’t wait to see what you think of that one 🤩

    Great post Kimberly!!

  3. I feel like we have similar reading preferences! 7 is too long for a series for me – series in general are very hard to keep track of. Also, yes to book borrowing! I feel like I’m drowning in my physical TBR atm but other than that I love borrowing books from the library – especially now that we’re able to again!
